I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the Palmer lab at Newcastle University. I completed my PhD in the Palmer lab in September 2023 with my research focusing on the Type VII Secretion System in Staphylococcus aureus and the toxins it secretes. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Glasgow, undertaking a research project in the Penadés lab, working on phage inducible chromosomal islands. I was also awarded the Harry Smith Vacation Studentship in 2018 where I worked in the Wall lab on metabolites of gut bacteria and the effects they have on the host.
